Artificial Intelligence is a field in which everything is done through data-driven methods; human intelligence can be simulated in a computer and then turned into algorithms that are capable of performing an action in the shortest possible time. In addition to AI, the Intelligent Augmentation (IA) approach emerged with computationally intelligent tools such as AI to strengthen human ability. In this proposal, an automated intelligent design tool is provided as an architectural tool (AIDT) which helps architects design homes in a novel way.
This structure has two modes, including physical and digital interfaces. In the physical interface, the architect attempts to configure all home designs with the help of colored cardboard pieces as unique spaces. Subsequently, this set of data is captured by a video camera and the footage is then processed by a computer (digital interface). Next, the Intelligent algorithms as the output will show the home architectural design via 2D and 3D views. The AIDT will enable architects to design, modify, and observe changes in real-time.
A User-friendly Tool...
This project proposes a user-friendly tool called the Automated Intelligent Design Tool (AIDT), which enables architects to design in a new, fresh way. This tool allows architects to change the home’s layout by moving colored cardboard tags and observing what they have designed on the computer. Therefore, it is a collaborative tool among the architect, the client, and the computer which can establish communications among them in a real-time feedback loop.
With the application of such a tool in a home design scenario, the client who demands many factors such as the required area for designated spaces, total desired area for the home, and specific proximity to desired spaces, would be sitting next to the architect who is responsible for the careful arrangement of colored cardboard tags in order to achieve the desired home design.
